Purple Wednesday

It’s been decided. On October 20th, 2010, we will wear purple in honor of the 6 gay boys who committed suicide in recent weeks/months due to homophobic abuse in their homes at at their schools. Purple represents Spirit on the LGBTQ flag and that’s exactly what we’d like all of you to have with you: spirit. Please know that times will get better and that you will meet people who will love you and respect you for who you are, no matter your sexuality. Please wear purple on October 20th. Tell your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors and schools.

Heart Break Quotes

The Really Big Day (for me at least)

I have just had the crappiest night of sleep.  I went to bed around ten.  Stared at the back of my eyelids for a few hours.  I woke up around midnight to one and ate something (yeah I know so bad.. all those empty calories, right?) and proceed to brush my teeth and go back to bed.  Where I for the next few hours pretended to sleep.  How do you pretend to sleep you may ask?  By closing one's eyes while assuming the fetal position without moving.  It's quite harder then it sounds.  But boy is it exhausting.  I want to say a got a handful or so hours of sleep but then I'd just be lying to you (and myself).

And oh ho do I have a big day today.  I have my usual classes from eight to noon today (per usual).  Then I have to call up this supervisor that I am now internship-ing for.  The internship where I have to get a current TB test, finger printed (both of which has to come out of my pocket), and a whole another interview.  After class I have to make the phone call to set up said interview.  Then afterwards go to the hospital to get the results of my TB test (I got the injection last Friday) and it turns out my last test happened in 2007.  But I'm pretty sure it's definitely not positive.

After all this crap is taken care of I get to read my stats book because I have night class the following day.  I always hated Mondays but now the flames of my hatred have begun anew.

Did I mention that I'm uber tired?  Cause I am.  I haven't got the droopy-eye reflex yet but the buzz from sleep-deprivation is definitely there.  I don't know how I am going to function in class let alone get through the day.  -.-

October has just become Midterm Month

Shouldn't classes set up their midterm to be I dunno be on the same week?  They do all generally start on the same week and end at the same week.  Plus finals is a week long of unnecessary evil, so why does the middle have to be so different.  I guess I should not be complaining about this sort of thing cause I get more time to study which actually just translates to more stress time.

On a happier note I have just obtain the useless (useful if you see it that way cause I don't) skill of tying a tie.  It's for my Halloween Costume.. more details on the way?

FF: Heat Wave

Disclaimer: I don't own Eureka and just know I should not be writing this. I should be studying for music theory, so shame on me!

Writer's Block: Boldly going

Which fictional world would you choose to visit, and why?

Do you even have to ask?  RHETORICAL!

I'd visit the Wizarding World =]
Do you think having children is a fundamental human right? Should there should be any restrictions?

Yes to the first question and no to the second.

I'm a Christian so I believe humankind was created to procreate the world.  Regardless if you believe in God or not it's a logical conclusion and scientifically proven.  I'm not against homosexual relationships because even if they can't make a baby they still can raise one.

And "I believe the Children are our Future" for starters.

No to the second because of what is happening in China.  Last year in my Sociology class I learned that China has put a "restriction" called "one child" per family policy.  Many times if a young couple found out that the fetus they were caring was a girl they would abort it regardless if the abortion was legal, safe (health wise), or morally right.  Which is sick!  And what is even worst in the next coming years... around 2050 there will be a surplus of males over females.  The ratio (my teacher said) I believe was "five to seven males to one single females" which is gross and very bad for the population of China.  And with the way things are carrying out now the damage is very near impossible to reverse.

Writer's Block: 10 Years From Now

Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?

I (hopefully) see myself working in a social services office and possibly with a engagement or wedding ring on a certain finger.  That or at least happy. =]
